Abu Humayd, Abu Usayd, Sahl bin Saad, and Muhammad bin Maslama gathered together and discussed the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.Abu Humayd said, "I am the most knowledgeable among you regarding the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat, meaning for the tashahhud, he laid his left foot flat beneath him and turned the front of his right foot toward the qiblah. He placed his right palm on his right knee and his left palm on his left knee, and he pointed with his finger, meaning the index finger."

اجتمع أبو حميد وأبو أسيد وسهل بن سعد ومحمد بن مسلمة فذكروا صلاة رسول الله ﷺ فقال أبو حميد أنا أعلمكم بصلاة رسول الله ﷺ إن رسول الله ﷺ جلس يعني للتشهد فافترش رجله اليسرى وأقبل بصدر اليمنى على قبلته ووضع كفه اليمنى على ركبته اليمنى وكفه اليسرى على ركبته اليسرى وأشار بأصبعه يعني السبابة
[Its chain of transmission is hasan]. Abu Dawud also narrated it in the Book of Prayer, Chapter on those who mentioned sitting on the left hip (tawarruk) in the fourth unit, no. 967, 734, from the hadith of Abu Amir Abdul-Malik bin Amr Aqdi, transmitting it in the same way.
