The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The best of you," or "the most virtuous of you, is the one who learns the Quran and teaches it."
حدثنا محمود بن غيلان حدثنا بشر بن السري حدثنا سفيان عن علقمة بن مرثد عن أبي عبد الرحمن السلمي
قال رسول الله ﷺ خيركم أو أفضلكم من تعلم القرآن وعلمه
Bukhari also recorded it, hadith 5028, from the report of Sufyan Thawri with the same wording. Ahmad recorded it, 1/69, from Yahya Qattan, from Sufyan and Shuba with the same wording, the wording being Shuba's, sahih from him.On this subject there is also a report from Ali [to come, 2909] and Saad.
