The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The likeness of my nation is like the rain. It is not known whether its beginning is better or its end."
حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا حماد بن يحيى الأبح عن ثابت البناني
قال رسول الله ﷺ مثل أمتي مثل المطر لا يدرى أوله خير أم آخره
[Its chain is daif] Ahmad also narrated it (3/130) from the hadith of Hammad bin Yahya with this wording, and the majority declared it daif. The hadith has daif corroborating narrations in Bazzar and Tabarani in Al-Awsat and elsewhere (see Majma al-Zawaid 10/68 and others).There is also a narration on this subject from Ammar in Bazzar (Kashf Astar 3/319, 320, no. 2843), which Ibn Hibban graded sahih (no. 307). It has another route in Ahmad (4/319), and from Abdullah bin Amr, from Umar [Tabarani, Majma al-Zawaid 10/68].
