The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The one whose counsel is sought is entrusted."He said, this is a hasan hadith. More than one narrator has transmitted it from Shayban bin Abdul-Rahman al-Nahwi. Shayban was a man of written records, sound in hadith, and his kunya was Abu Muawiya.Abdul-Jabbar bin al-Ala al-Attar narrated to us from Sufyan bin Uyayna, who said, Abdul-Malik bin Umayr said, "I narrate a hadith without omitting a single letter from it."
[Its chain is daif] Sourced: it was mentioned in full earlier at 2369. It was also narrated by Abu Dawud, no. 5128, and Ibn Majah, no. 3745, from the hadith of Shayban with the same wording. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 1991, as did Hakim, 4/131, who said it meets the standard of the two Shaikhs, and Dhahabi agreed with him. The hadith has daif corroborating narrations found in Ibn Majah, no. 3746, and elsewhere.
