Abdullah bin Abu Talha and I went in to visit Abu Saeed Khudri while he was ill. Abu Saeed said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ told us that the angels do not enter a house in which there are statues or images." Ishaq was uncertain which of the two words he said.
حدثنا أحمد بن منيع حدثنا روح بن عبادة حدثنا مالك بن أنس عن إسحق بن عبد الله بن أبي طلحة
دخلت أنا وعبد الله بن أبي طلحة على أبي سعيد الخدري نعوده فقال أبو سعيد أخبرنا رسول الله ﷺ أن الملائكة لا تدخل بيتا فيه تماثيل أو صورة شك إسحق لا يدري أيهما قال
[Its chain of transmission is sahih] Takhrij: Ahmad also narrated it in 3/90, no. 11880, from the hadith of Malik through this same chain, and it is found in Muwatta 2/965. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 1486. The hadith has many other routes of transmission.
