The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "None of you should make his brother get up from his seat and then sit in it himself."
حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا حماد بن زيد عن أيوب عن نافع
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال لا يقم أحدكم أخاه من مجلسه ثم يجلس فيه
Agreed upon (by Bukhari and Muslim). Muslim narrated it in the Book of Greetings, chapter on the prohibition of making a person get up from the permissible place he had already taken, no. 2177, from the hadith of Hammad bin Zayd. Bukhari narrated it, nos. 6269 and 6270, from the hadith of Nafi with the same wording.
