Whenever we came to the Prophet ﷺ, each of us would sit wherever he reached.
حدثنا علي بن حجر أخبرنا شريك عن سماك بن حرب
كنا إذا أتينا النبي ﷺ جلس أحدنا حيث ينتهي
Its chain of transmission is daif. Abu Dawud also narrated it in the Book of Manners, chapter on sitting in circles, hadith 4825, from the hadith of Sharik the judge, through it, using an ambiguous form of transmission (an'ana). I did not find the hadith of Zuhayr bin Muawiya. The hadith has corroborating narrations, and the hadith of Sharik was graded sahih by Ibn Hibban (Al-Ihsan), 6399.
