The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever narrates a hadith from me while believing it to be false is himself one of the liars."
حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مهدي حدثنا سفيان عن حبيب بن أبي ثابت عن ميمون بن أبي شبيب
عن النبي ﷺ قال من حدث عني حديثا وهو يرى أنه كذب فهو أحد الكاذبين
Muslim also narrated it, Introduction, chapter 1, before hadith 1, and Ibn Majah, hadith 41, from the hadith of Sufyan Thawri with this wording, and Shuba corroborated him.On this subject there is also a hadith from Ali bin Abu Talib [Ibn Majah, hadith 38] and from Samura [Muslim, Introduction, chapter 1, from the hadith of Shuba, from Hakam, from Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Layla, from him, with this wording].The hadith of Amash, from Hakam [narrated by Ibn Majah, hadith 40], and Ibn Abu Layla from him [Ibn Majah, hadith 38].
