From this pulpit of ours, the pulpit of Basra, he reported from the Prophet ﷺ that he said, "A massive boulder is cast from the brink of Hell, and it falls through it for seventy years without ever reaching its bottom."Umar used to say, "Remember the Fire often, for its heat is intense, its depth is far, and its hammers are of iron."
حدثنا عبد بن حميد حدثنا حسين بن علي الجعفي عن فضيل بن عياض عن هشام عن الحسن قال
على منبرنا هذا منبر البصرة عن النبي ﷺ قال إن الصخرة العظيمة لتلقى من شفير جهنم فتهوي فيها سبعين عاما وما تفضي إلى قرارها قال وكان عمر يقول أكثروا ذكر النار فإن حرها شديد وإن قعرها بعيد وإن مقامعها حديد
