When a man met the Prophet ﷺ and shook his hand, he would not withdraw his hand from the man's hand until the man himself withdrew it, nor would he turn his face away from the man's face until the man was the one to turn away. He was never seen extending his knees in front of someone sitting with him.He said, this is a strange (gharib) hadith.
حدثنا سويد بن نصر أخبرنا عبد الله بن المبارك عن عمران بن زيد التغلبي عن زيد العمي
كان النبي ﷺ إذا استقبله الرجل فصافحه لا ينزع يده من يده حتى يكون الرجل ينزع ولا يصرف وجهه عن وجهه حتى يكون الرجل هو الذي يصرفه ولم ير مقدما ركبتيه بين يدي جليس له قال هذا حديث غريب

Ibn Majah narrated it in the book of Manners, chapter on Honoring One's Companion, no. 3716, from the hadith of Imran bin Zayd, transmitted through him, and it is found in Zuhd by Ibn Mubarak, no. 392.Zayd Ammi is daif, and it has daif corroborating narrations in Abu Dawud, no. 4794, and elsewhere.
