My son, had you seen us when we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the rain caught us, you would have thought our smell was the smell of sheep.
حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا أبو عوانة عن قتادة
يا بني لو رأيتنا ونحن مع رسول الله ﷺ وأصابتنا السماء لحسبت أن ريحنا ريح الضأن
[Its chain is daif]. Abu Dawud also narrated it, in the Book of Clothing, Chapter on Wearing Wool and Hair, hadith no. 4033, from the hadith of Abu Awana with the same wording. Qatada was known to conceal breaks in his chains of transmission and narrated this using the ambiguous form "an," yet Ibn Hibban graded it sahih in Ihsan, 1232.
