We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the mosque when Musab bin Umayr appeared, wearing nothing but a cloak of his that had been patched with fur. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw him, he wept, recalling the comfort Musab had once enjoyed compared to his condition that day.Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "How will it be with you when one of you goes out in the morning in one fine garment and returns in the evening in another, when one platter is set before him and another is taken away, and you drape your houses as the Kaabah is draped?"They said, "Messenger of Allah, on that day we will be better off than we are today. We will be free to devote ourselves to worship and spared the burden of toil."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "No, you are better today than you will be then."
حدثنا هناد حدثنا يونس بن بكير عن محمد بن إسحق حدثني يزيد بن زياد عن محمد بن كعب القرظي حدثني من سمع
إنا لجلوس مع رسول الله ﷺ في المسجد إذ طلع مصعب بن عمير ما عليه إلا بردة له مرقوعة بفرو فلما رآه رسول الله ﷺ بكى للذي كان فيه من النعمة والذي هو اليوم فيه ثم قال رسول الله ﷺ كيف بكم إذا غدا أحدكم في حلة وراح في حلة ووضعت بين يديه صحفة ورفعت أخرى وسترتم بيوتكم كما تستر الكعبة قالوا يا رسول الله نحن يومئذ خير منا اليوم نتفرغ للعبادة ونكفى المؤنة فقال رسول الله ﷺ لأنتم اليوم خير منكم يومئذ

[Its chain is daif] * "Man samia" (whoever heard) - I could not identify him, as mentioned previously at 2473. It has a daif corroborating narration in Abu Yaala, 1/387, hadith no. 502, according to what appears in the printed edition, otherwise it is the hadith of Tirmidhi, and the correct version of it is, Ibn Ishaq from Yazid bin Ruman... etc.
