I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Wretched is the servant who is vain and arrogant, forgetting the Most Great, the Most High.Wretched is the servant who is tyrannical and oppressive, forgetting the Compeller, the Most High.Wretched is the servant who is heedless and distracted, forgetting the graves and decay.Wretched is the servant who is insolent and transgresses, forgetting the beginning and the end.Wretched is the servant who deceives the religion for the sake of worldly gain.Wretched is the servant who corrupts the religion through doubts.Wretched is the servant whom greed drives.Wretched is the servant whom desire leads astray.Wretched is the servant whom craving humiliates."
حدثنا محمد بن يحيى الأزدي البصري حدثنا عبد الصمد بن عبد الوارث حدثنا هاشم وهو ابن سعيد الكوفي حدثني زيد الخثعمي

Sourcing, its chain of transmission is daif. Ibn Abu Asim reported it in Sunnah, 10/1, 11, no. 10, from the hadith of Muhammad bin Yahya, in a very abridged form. Hakim graded it sahih, 4/316, from the hadith of Abdul-Samad, but Dhahabi criticized this, saying, "Its chain of transmission is obscure. Hashim bin Saeed is daif" (Taqrib). The hadith has a corroborating narration that is very daif, found in Ibn Adi, 4/1429.
