The Prophet ﷺ mentioned something about the Pond, and I wished to hear it directly from you.Abu Salam said, Thawban narrated to me from the Prophet ﷺ that he said, "My Pond extends from Aden to Amman of Balqa. Its water is whiter than milk and sweeter than honey, and its drinking cups are as numerous as the stars of the sky. Whoever takes a single drink from it will never thirst again. The first people to reach it will be the poor among the emigrants, with disheveled hair and soiled garments, those who do not marry pampered women and for whom no doors are opened."Umar said, "But I have married pampered women, and doors have been opened for me, and I married Fatimah daughter of Abdul-Malik. So inevitably, I will not wash my head until it becomes disheveled, nor will I wash the garment next to my body until it becomes soiled."
Sahih. Ibn Majah also narrated it in the chapter on Zuhd, section on the mention of the Pool, hadith no. 4303, from the hadith of Muhammad bin Muhajir with this wording, though its chain of transmission is disconnected. The hadith has other routes recorded by Ibn Hibban, hadith no. 2601, and Tabarani and others. It was also narrated by Abu Salam from Amir bin Zayd Bakkai from Utba bin Abdul-Sulami with this wording, and with these routes the hadith is sahih. Muslim also narrated it, hadith no. 2301, from the hadith of Thawban with this wording, but with different phrasing.
