Abdullah bin Amr bin As reported,

An Arabi came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked, "What is the Trumpet?"He replied, "A horn that will be blown into."

Commentary

Darussalam

[Its chain of transmission is sahih]. Abu Dawud narrated it in the Sunnah, chapter on the mention of the Bath (resurrection) and the Trumpet, no. 4742, from the hadith of Sulayman Taymi, with the same wording. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 2570, as did Hakim, 2/506, 4/560, and Dhahabi agreed with him.
