The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever is struck by poverty and brings it before people will not have his need fulfilled, but whoever is struck by poverty and brings it before Allah, Allah will soon grant him provision, sooner or later."
حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مهدي حدثنا سفيان عن بشير أبي إسمعيل عن سيار عن طارق بن شهاب
قال رسول الله ﷺ من نزلت به فاقة فأنزلها بالناس لم تسد فاقته ومن نزلت به فاقة فأنزلها بالله فيوشك الله له برزق عاجل أو آجل
Sourcing, [hasan] Abu Dawud narrated it in Zakat, Chapter on Restraining from Asking Others, no. 1645, from the hadith of Bashir bin Salman Abu Ismail, with this wording, and Hakim graded it sahih, 1/408, and Dhahabi agreed with him. Ibn Mubarak and others also narrated it from Bashir with this wording, and Sayyar is Abu Hamza.
