The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "This world compared to the Hereafter is nothing but like one of you dipping his finger into the sea. Let him consider what comes back on it."
حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد حدثنا إسمعيل بن أبي خالد حدثنا قيس بن أبي حازم قال
قال رسول الله ﷺ ما الدنيا في الآخرة إلا مثل ما يجعل أحدكم إصبعه في اليم فلينظر بماذا يرجع
Muslim also narrated it in the Book of Paradise and its Bliss, in the chapter on the Passing Away of This World and the Description of the Gathering on the Day of Resurrection, hadith no. 2858, from the hadith of Yahya Qattan, with the same wording.
