The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Remember often the destroyer of pleasures," meaning death.
حدثنا محمود بن غيلان حدثنا الفضل بن موسى عن محمد بن عمرو عن أبي سلمة
قال رسول الله ﷺ أكثروا ذكر هاذم اللذات يعني الموت
Its isnad is hasan. Ibn Majah also narrated it in Zuhd, chapter "Mention of Death and Preparing for It," Hadith 4258, from Mahmud bin Ghaylan through the same route. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, Hadith 2559-2562, as did Hakim, who said it meets the criteria of Muslim, 4/321, and Dhahabi agreed with him.
