The Prophet ﷺ said, "In the last days, the dreams of a believer will hardly ever prove false. The most truthful of them in dreams will be the most truthful of them in speech. Dreams are of three kinds, a good dream which is glad tidings from Allah, a dream which reflects what a person has been thinking about, and a distressing dream from Satan. So if any of you sees a dream he dislikes, he should not tell anyone about it, but should rise and pray."Abu Hurairah said, "I am pleased to see fetters in a dream, but I dislike seeing a chain around the neck. Fetters represent steadfastness in religion."He also said, the Prophet ﷺ said, "The dream of a believer is one of forty-six parts of prophethood."
حدثنا الحسن بن علي الخلال حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا معمر عن أيوب عن ابن سيرين
عن النبي ﷺ قال في آخر الزمان لا تكاد رؤيا المؤمن تكذب وأصدقهم رؤيا أصدقهم حديثا والرؤيا ثلاث الحسنة بشرى من الله والرؤيا يحدث الرجل بها نفسه والرؤيا تحزين من الشيطان فإذا رأى أحدكم رؤيا يكرهها فلا يحدث بها أحدا وليقم فليصل قال أبو هريرة يعجبني القيد وأكره الغل القيد ثبات في الدين قال وقال النبي ﷺ رؤيا المؤمن جزء من ستة وأربعين جزءا من النبوة
Muslim also narrated it in the chapter on Vision, in the section on dreams being from Allah and being a part of prophethood, hadith no. 2263, from the hadith of Abdul-Razzaq, with the same chain.
