The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever sees me in a dream has truly seen me, for Satan cannot take my form."
حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مهدي حدثنا سفيان عن أبي إسحق عن أبي الأحوص
عن النبي ﷺ قال من رآني في المنام فقد رآني فإن الشيطان لا يتمثل بي
[Sahih]. Ibn Majah also narrated it in the chapter on the interpretation of dreams, the section on seeing the Prophet ﷺ in a dream, Hadith 3900, from the hadith of Sufyan Thawri with this wording, but its chain is daif. The hadith has many corroborating narrations in Bukhari, Hadith 6993, and Muslim, Hadith 2266, and others.On this subject there are also narrations from Abu Hurairah [Bukhari, Hadith 6993, and Muslim, Hadith 2266], Abu Qatada [Bukhari, Hadith 6995, and Muslim, Hadith 2267], Ibn Abbas [Ibn Majah, Hadith 3905], Abu Saeed [Bukhari, Hadith 6997], Jabir [Muslim, Hadith 2268], Anas [Bukhari, Hadith 6994, and Muslim, Hadith 2264], Abu Malik Ashjai from his father [Tirmidhi in Shamail, Hadith 409], Abu Bakra [Ibn Adi in al-Kamil, 2/627], and Abu Juhayfa [Ibn Majah, Hadith 3904].
