The Prophet ﷺ visited a man suffering from a fever and said, "Receive good news, for Allah says, 'It is My fire which I impose upon My sinful servant so that it may be his share of the Fire.'"

أن النبي ﷺ عاد رجلا من وعك كان به فقال أبشر فإن الله يقول هي ناري أسلطها على عبدي المذنب لتكون حظه من النار
[Hasan]. Ibn Majah also narrated it in the Book of Medicine, chapter on fever, hadith no. 3470, from the hadith of Abu Usama with the same wording, and Busiri graded it sahih, as did Hakim (1/345) and Dhahabi.Abdul-Rahman is Ibn Yazid bin Tamim, as mentioned in Tafsir Ibn Jareer (16/83, 84) and Ibn Sunni, hadith no. 542, through the narration of the Syrians from him. His saying "from Ibn Jabir" is an error, as I have verified in my takhrij of Nihayah fil-Fitan wal-Malahim.It has a hasan corroborating witness in Bukhari's Tarikh al-Kabir (7/63), and on that basis I graded it hasan.
