The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent us out on a military expedition, and we stopped at a settlement and asked them for hospitality, but they refused to host us. Then their chief was stung by a scorpion, and they came to us and asked, "Is there anyone among you who can recite a healing charm against scorpion stings?"I said, "Yes, I can, but I will not recite it for him until you give us some sheep."He said, "I will give you thirty sheep."So we accepted, and I recited Surah al-Fatihah over him seven times, and he recovered. We took the sheep, but afterward we felt some unease about them, so we said, "Do not be hasty until you come to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."When we came to him, I told him what I had done.He said, "How did you know it was a healing charm? Take the sheep, and assign me a share with you."
