I served the Prophet ﷺ for ten years. He never once said "Uff" to me, nor did he ever say about something I had done, "Why did you do it?" or about something I had left undone, "Why did you not do it?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was the finest of people in character. I never touched any silk brocade or silk, nor anything softer than the palm of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I never smelled any musk or perfume more fragrant than the sweat of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
Muslim also narrated it in the Book of Virtues, chapter on the pleasantness of his scent and touching him, and seeking blessing by touching him, hadith 2330, from Qutayba, with the same wording. Bukhari narrated it, hadith 3561, from the hadith of Thabit, in abridged form.On this topic there are also narrations from Ayesha [coming up: 2016] and Bara [Tirmidhi in Shamail, hadith 3].
