The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Beware of suspicion, for suspicion is the most untruthful of speech."
حدثنا ابن أبي عمر حدثنا سفيان عن أبي الزناد عن الأعرج
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال إياكم والظن فإن الظن أكذب الحديث
Agreed upon [by Bukhari and Muslim]. Bukhari transmitted it in the book of manners, chapter, "O you who believe, avoid much suspicion, for some suspicion is sin, and do not spy on one another", hadith no. 6066, and Muslim, hadith no. 2563, from the hadith of Abu Zinad, both at length and in abridged form.
