The Prophet ﷺ said, "The Lord's pleasure lies in the parent's pleasure, and the Lord's displeasure lies in the parent's displeasure."Muhammad bin Bashshar narrated to us, Muhammad bin Jafar narrated to us, from Shuba, from Yaala bin Ata, from his father, from Abdullah bin Amr, a similar report, but he did not trace it back to the Prophet, and this version is sounder.

Sourcing. Its isnad is hasan. Ibn Hibban narrated it in Mawarid, no. 2026, from the hadith of Khalid bin Harith with the same wording, and Hakim graded it sahih according to the criteria of Muslim, 4/151-152, and Dhahabi agreed with him. The hadith of Shubah is found in Bukhari's Adab al-Mufrad, hadith no. 2. And on this topic there is a report from Abdullah bin Masud, perhaps referring to the preceding hadith, no. 1898.
