The Prophet ﷺ used to breathe three times outside the vessel while drinking, and he would say, "It is more wholesome and more thirst-quenching."
حدثنا قتيبة ويوسف بن حماد قالا حدثنا عبد الوارث بن سعيد عن أبي عصام
أن النبي ﷺ كان يتنفس في الإناء ثلاثا ويقول هو أمرأ وأروى
Muslim also narrated it in the Book of Drinks, chapter on the dislike of breathing inside the vessel and the recommendation of breathing three times outside the vessel, hadith no. 2028, from the hadith of Abdul-Warith, with it being the hadith of Hisham Dastawai. Muslim narrated it, hadith no. 2028. As for the hadith of Azra bin Thabit, Bukhari narrated it, hadith no. 5631, and Muslim, no. 122/2028.
