The Prophet ﷺ said, "Eat olive oil and anoint yourselves with it, for it comes from a blessed tree."
حدثنا محمود بن غيلان حدثنا أبو أحمد الزبيري وأبو نعيم قالا حدثنا سفيان عن عبد الله بن عيسى عن رجل يقال له عطاء من أهل الشام
قال النبي ﷺ كلوا الزيت وادهنوا به فإنه من شجرة مباركة
Sourcing, sahih. Tabarani related it in al-Kabir 19/269, 270, no. 597, from the hadith of Sufyan, meaning Thawri, through this route, and Zuhayr bin Muawiya followed him in narrating it there, no. 596. Hakim graded it sahih in 2/397, 398, and Dhahabi agreed with him. The hadith has supporting narrations, including the preceding hadith.* Ataa here is not Ibn Abu Rabah.
