Ahmad also reported it (12/5) from the hadith of Saeed bin Abu Aruba, with the same wording, and it has widely-attested corroborating narrations.On this subject, there are also narrations from Ali [Bukhari, no. 2931, and Muslim, no. 627], Abdullah bin Masud [Muslim, no. 628], Zayd bin Thabit [we did not find this, but it is established from him that he used to say it was Dhuhr, Abu Dawud, no. 411, and Malik, 1/139], Ayesha [Muslim, no. 629], Hafsa [Malik, no. 139, and Abdul-Razzaq, no. 2202], Abu Hurairah [Ibn Khuzayma, 2/290, no. 1338], and Abu Hashim bin Utba [Hakim in al-Mustadrak, 3/638].The statement of Zayd is in the Muwatta, 1/139, and in Sunan al-Kubra of Bayhaqi, 1/458, 459. The statement of Ayesha [I did not find it]. The statement of Ibn Abbas is with Bayhaqi, 1/461, and in the Muwatta. The statement of Ibn Umar is with Bayhaqi, 1/462. The statement of Hasan concerning the aqeeqah was reported by Bukhari, no. 5472, from the hadith of Quraysh bin Anas with the same wording, and by his route Tirmidhi also reported it.
