The Prophet ﷺ used to lick his three fingers after eating. He said, "When a morsel falls from one of you, let him remove any dirt from it and eat it, and not leave it for Satan." He also commanded us to wipe the plate clean, saying, "You do not know in which part of your food the blessing lies."
حدثنا الحسن بن علي الخلال حدثنا عفان بن مسلم حدثنا حماد بن سلمة حدثنا ثابت
أن النبي ﷺ كان إذا أكل طعاما لعق أصابعه الثلاث وقال إذا ما وقعت لقمة أحدكم فليمط عنها الأذى وليأكلها ولا يدعها للشيطان وأمرنا أن نسلت الصحفة وقال إنكم لا تدرون في أي طعامكم البركة
