The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you puts on his sandals, let him begin with the right, and when he takes them off, let him begin with the left. Let the right be the first to be put on and the last to be removed."
حدثنا الأنصاري حدثنا معن حدثنا مالك ح و حدثنا قتيبة عن مالك عن أبي الزناد عن الأعرج
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال إذا انتعل أحدكم فليبدأ باليمين وإذا نزع فليبدأ بالشمال فلتكن اليمنى أولهما تنعل وآخرهما تنزع
Its transmission is agreed upon (Bukhari and Muslim). Bukhari included it in the Book of Clothing, chapter "One Takes Off the Left Sandal First," no. 5856, and Muslim, no. 2097, from the hadith of Malik through this same chain. It is found in Muwatta 2/916 (Yahya's version). See also the preceding hadith, no. 1774.
