I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about it, and he said, "Prayer at its proper times."I asked, "What else, Messenger of Allah?"He said, "Kindness to parents."I asked, "What else, Messenger of Allah?"He said, "Struggle in the cause of Allah."
حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا مروان بن معاوية الفزاري عن أبي يعفور عن الوليد بن العيزار عن أبي عمرو الشيباني أن رجلا قال
سألت عنه رسول الله ﷺ فقال الصلاة على مواقيتها قلت وماذا يا رسول الله قال وبر الوالدين قلت وماذا يا رسول الله قال والجهاد في سبيل الله
Agreed upon (by Bukhari and Muslim). Muslim narrated it in the Book of Iman, chapter on the statement that faith in Allah Most High is the most excellent deed, hadith no. 85, from the hadith of Marwan Fazari, and Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Prayer Times, chapter on the excellence of prayer among deeds performed at their proper time, hadith no. 527, from the hadith of Walid bin Ayzar, through him.
