Its chain of transmission is daif. Ahmad narrated it (26/1, 34) from Abu Muawiya Dareer with the same chain, and Fudayl bin Iyad followed him in agreement with it, as recorded by Nasai in al-Kubra, hadith 8257. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, hadith 1156, as did Ibn Hibban (al-Ihsan), 2032. Amash and Ibrahim Nakhai are both mudallis narrators, and the narration uses "an", see the following hadith.There is also a narration on this subject from Abdullah bin Amr [we did not find it, though there is another hadith on this subject in Abu Dawud, hadith 3663], and from Aws bin Huzaifa [Ibn Majah, hadith 1345, and Abu Dawud, hadith 1393], and from Imran bin Husayn [Ahmad, 437/4, 444, graded sahih by Ibn Khuzayma, hadith 1342, and by Hakim, 379/2, with Dhahabi agreeing with him].The hadith of Hasan bin Ubaydullah was narrated by Ahmad (38/1), the hadith, "There is no staying up at night except for one praying or one traveling," narrated by Ahmad (412/1, 463), and its chain is daif due to a break in it, though it has weak corroborating narrations.
