The Prophet ﷺ rode a horse belonging to Abu Talha called Mandub. He said, "There was nothing to fear, and we found him to be like a sea."
حدثنا محمود بن غيلان حدثنا أبو داود الطيالسي قال أنبأنا شعبة عن قتادة
ركب النبي ﷺ فرسا لأبي طلحة يقال له مندوب فقال ما كان من فزع وإن وجدناه لبحرا
Agreed upon (by Bukhari and Muslim). Bukhari related it in the Book of Gifts and Their Merit and Encouragement to Give Them, chapter on one who borrowed a horse from people, hadith no. 2627, and Muslim, hadith no. 2307, from the hadith of Shubah with this wording. It is also found in Musnad Tayalisi, and Nasai related it in Fadail, hadith no. 1979, with a slight difference.There is also a report on this subject from Amr bin As [Ahmad 4:203, Sahabah, hadith no. 196, and Kubra, hadith no. 8301].
