The Prophet ﷺ said, "Shall I tell you who the best of people is? A man holding the reins of his horse in the path of Allah. Shall I tell you who comes next? A man secluded with his small flock of sheep, fulfilling Allah's right concerning them. Shall I tell you who the worst of people is? A man who is asked in the name of Allah but does not give."
Hasan.Nasai also narrated it (5/83, no. 2570, Book of zakat, chapter on one who asks by Allah and does not give for the sake of Allah), from the hadith of Ata bin Yasar, through the same chain. Amr bin Harith also narrated it from Bukayr bin Abdullah, through the same chain, as found in Ibn Hibban (no. 1594, Mawarid).
