The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Being killed in the cause of Allah expiates every sin."Then Jibreel said, "Except debt."So the Prophet ﷺ said, "Except debt."
حدثنا يحيى بن طلحة اليربوعي الكوفي حدثنا أبو بكر بن عياش عن حميد
قال رسول الله ﷺ القتل في سبيل الله يكفر كل خطيئة فقال جبريل إلا الدين فقال النبي ﷺ إلا الدين
[Sahih] Its chain is daif, but the hadith has corroborating narrations in Muslim, no. 119/1886, 120, and others. On this subject there are also reports from Kaab bin Ujra [I could not find it], Jabir [Bukhari, no. 4046, and Muslim, no. 1899, and Ahmad 3/325, 352, 367, 373], Abu Hurairah [Ibn Majah, no. 2798], and Abu Qatada [to come, 1712].
