Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ take women out on military expeditions, and did he allot them a share of the spoils?Ibn Abbas wrote back to him, "You have written asking me whether the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to take women out on military expeditions. He did take them along, and they would tend to the wounded and be given a small portion from the spoils. As for a regular share, he did not allot them a fixed share."
Muslim also narrated it in Jihad, chapter "Women who go out on military campaigns are given a portion but not a full share...etc," hadith 138/1812, from the hadith of Hatim bin Ismail through this same route. There is also a report on this subject from Anas [I could not locate it] and from Umm Atiya [perhaps he is referring to the hadith in Muslim, hadith 142/1812].
