The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no vow in disobedience, and its expiation is the expiation of an oath."
حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا أبو صفوان عن يونس بن يزيد عن ابن شهاب عن أبي سلمة
قال رسول الله ﷺ لا نذر في معصية وكفارته كفارة يمين
[Sahih] Abu Dawud also reported it in the Book of Oaths and Vows, chapter on one who deems atonement necessary when it involves disobedience, no. 3290, as did Ibn Majah, no. 2125, and Nasai, no. 3865, from the hadith of Yunus, with the same wording, and Zuhri explicitly stated that he heard it directly, as found in Nasai, no. 3869. The hadith has corroborating narrations. On this subject there is also a report from Ibn Umar, apparently referring to the hadith of Bukhari, no. 6608, and Muslim, no. 1639, and from Jabir [Ahmad, 3/297], and from Imran bin Husayn [Nasai, 29/7, no. 3877–3882].
