Someone asked Ali about the sacrificial offering, whether it is obligatory.Ali replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the Muslims offered the sacrifice."The man repeated the question to him.Ali said, "Do you understand? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the Muslims offered the sacrifice."
حدثنا أحمد بن منيع حدثنا هشيم أخبرنا حجاج بن أرطاة عن جبلة بن سحيم أن رجلا سأل
عن الأضحية أواجبة هي فقال ضحى رسول الله ﷺ والمسلمون فأعادها عليه فقال أتعقل ضحى رسول الله ﷺ والمسلمون
[Its chain of transmission is daif]. Ibn Majah narrated it in the Book of Sacrifices, Chapter, "Is the Sacrifice Obligatory or Not?", Hadith 3124b, from the hadith of Hajjaj bin Artah, and he is daif and a mudallis, and he narrated with "an" phrasing, but the hadith is hasan li-ghayrihi.
