The Prophet ﷺ said, "Delay in repayment by one who is able to pay is injustice. If any of you has his debt transferred to a solvent person, let him accept the transfer."
حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مهدي حدثنا سفيان عن أبي الزناد عن الأعرج
عن النبي ﷺ قال مطل الغني ظلم وإذا أتبع أحدكم على ملي فليتبع
[Sahih]. Ibn Majah also reported it in the Book of Charities, Chapter on Transferring Debts, no. 2403, and others, from the hadith of Sufyan Thawri, and Bukhari, no. 2287, and Muslim, no. 1564, from the hadith of Abu Zinad, through this same chain.On this topic there are also narrations from Ibn Umar [to come, no. 1309] and Sharid bin Suwayd Thaqafi [Abu Dawud, no. 3628].
