The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "Ali, there are three matters you must not delay: the prayer when its time arrives, the funeral when it is ready, and the unmarried woman when a suitable match is found for her."
حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا عبد الله بن وهب عن سعيد بن عبد الله الجهني عن محمد بن عمر بن علي بن أبي طالب عن أبيه
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال له يا علي ثلاث لا تؤخرها الصلاة إذا أتت والجنازة إذا حضرت والأيم إذا وجدت لها كفئا
[Sahih]. Ibn Majah also narrated it in the Book of Funerals, Chapter on what has been said regarding the funeral not being delayed once it is ready etc., hadith no. 1486, from the hadith of Abdullah bin Wahb by this route, and Hakim declared it sahih (2/162, 163), as did Dhahabi. The basic hadith has supporting narrations.Saeed bin Abdullah was deemed reliable by Ajli, Ibn Hibban, and others, and no weight is to be given to those who considered him unknown.
