We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a funeral procession, and he saw some people riding. He said, "Have you no shame? The angels of Allah are on their feet while you are on the backs of mounts."
حدثنا علي بن حجر أخبرنا عيسى بن يونس عن أبي بكر بن أبي مريم عن راشد بن سعد
خرجنا مع رسول الله ﷺ في جنازة فرأى ناسا ركبانا فقال ألا تستحيون إن ملائكة الله على أقدامهم وأنتم على ظهور الدواب
[Its chain of transmission is daif]. Ibn Majah also narrated it in the Book of Funerals, chapter on what has been said about attending funerals, hadith no. 1480, from the hadith of Abu Bakr bin Abu Maryam, with the same wording. Abu Bakr is daif, his house had been robbed, and he became confused as a result (Taqrib).There is also a report on this subject from Mughira bin Shuba [coming up: 1031] and Jabir bin Samura [coming up: 1013, 1014].
