A chair was brought to him and he sat upon it. Then he called for a vessel containing water and poured it over his hands three times. He rinsed his mouth and sniffed water into his nose three times using a single handful. He washed his face three times, then washed each forearm three times. He took some water and wiped his head. Shuba once gestured from the front of his head to the back of it, then said, "I do not know whether he brought his hands back or not." He then washed each foot three times.Then he said, "Whoever wishes to see how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed his ablution, this is how he performed it."Abu Abdul-Rahman said, "This is an error. The correct name is Khalid bin Alqama, not Malik bin Arfata."
أخبرنا سويد بن نصر قال أنبأنا عبد الله وهو ابن المبارك عن شعبة عن مالك بن عرفطة عن عبد خير
أنه أتي بكرسي فقعد عليه ثم دعا بتور فيه ماء فكفأ على يديه ثلاثا ثم مضمض واستنشق بكف واحد ثلاث مرات وغسل وجهه ثلاثا وغسل ذراعيه ثلاثا ثلاثا وأخذ من الماء فمسح برأسه وأشار شعبة مرة من ناصيته إلى مؤخر رأسه ثم قال لا أدري أردهما أم لا وغسل رجليه ثلاثا ثلاثا ثم قال من سره أن ينظر إلى طهور رسول الله ﷺ فهذا طهوره و قال أبو عبد الرحمن هذا خطأ والصواب خالد بن علقمة ليس مالك بن عرفطة
