A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "I am unable to memorize anything from the Quran, so teach me something that will suffice me in place of the Quran."He said, "Say, 'Glory be to Allah, all praise belongs to Allah, there is no god but Allah, Allah is the greatest, and there is no power nor strength except with Allah.'"

جاء رجل إلى النبي ﷺ فقال إني لا أستطيع أن آخذ شيئا من القرآن فعلمني شيئا يجزئني من القرآن فقال قل سبحان الله والحمد لله ولا إله إلا الله والله أكبر ولا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله
[hasan] Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Prayer, chapter on what suffices the illiterate person and the non-Arabic speaker in recitation, no. 832, from the hadith of Ibrahim Saksaki, at length, and it is also in Al-Kubra, no. 996.
