He said, "Messenger of Allah, Madinah has many vermin and predatory animals."The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Do you hear, 'Come to prayer, come to success'?"He replied, "Yes."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Then come along," and did not grant him any concession.
أخبرنا هارون بن زيد بن أبي الزرقاء قال حدثنا أبي قال حدثنا سفيان ح و أخبرني عبد الله بن محمد بن إسحق قال حدثنا قاسم بن يزيد قال حدثنا سفيان عن عبد الرحمن بن عابس عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي ليلى
أنه قال يا رسول الله إن المدينة كثيرة الهوام والسباع قال هل تسمع حي على الصلاة حي على الفلاح قال نعم قال فحي هلا ولم يرخص له
[Sahih] Reported by Abu Dawud, Prayer, chapter on the severity regarding abandoning the congregational prayer, no. 553, from Harun bin Zayd, through him. It is also in Al-Kubra, no. 924, and Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, no. 1478. It has corroborating narrations in Muslim, no. 653, Ahmad, 3/423, Ibn Khuzayma, no. 1479, and Hakim, 1/247, and others.
