The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Prayer in congregation is superior to prayer performed alone by twenty-seven degrees."
أخبرنا قتيبة عن مالك عن نافع
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال صلاة الجماعة تفضل على صلاة الفذ بسبع وعشرين درجة
Bukhari collected it in the Book of Adhan, chapter on the merit of praying in congregation, hadith no. 645, and Muslim collected it in the Book of Mosques, chapter on the merit of praying in congregation and the emphasis on the sin of neglecting it, and that it is a communal obligation, hadith no. 650, from the hadith of Malik through this chain. It is also found in Muwatta (Yahya's narration) 1/129, and in Sunan al-Kubra, hadith no. 911.
