He heard his father say, "I poured water for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he performed ablution during the expedition of Tabuk, and he wiped over his leather socks."Abu Abdul-Rahman said, Malik did not mention Urwa bin Mughira.
أخبرنا سليمان بن داود والحارث بن مسكين قراءة عليه وأنا أسمع واللفظ له عن ابن وهب عن مالك ويونس وعمرو بن الحارث أن ابن شهاب أخبرهم عن عباد بن زياد
أنه سمع أباه يقول سكبت على رسول الله ﷺ حين توضأ في غزوة تبوك فمسح على الخفين قال أبو عبد الرحمن لم يذكر مالك عروة بن المغيرة
Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari transmitted it in the Book of Wudu, Chapter of a Man Performing Wudu for His Companion, hadith (182), and Muslim, in the Book of Prayer, Chapter on the Congregation Putting Forward Someone to Lead Them in Prayer... etc., hadith (421) (from the hadith of Ibn Shihab), from the hadith of Urwa with the same wording, and it is found in Muwatta 1/35, 36 (Yahya).
