I saw Jareer urinate, then call for water, perform ablution, and wipe over his leather socks. He then stood and prayed. When asked about this, he said, "I saw the Prophet ﷺ do exactly this."
أخبرنا محمد بن عبد الأعلى قال حدثنا خالد قال حدثنا شعبة عن سليمان عن إبراهيم
رأيت جريرا بال ثم دعا بماء فتوضأ ومسح على خفيه ثم قام فصلى فسئل عن ذلك فقال رأيت النبي ﷺ صنع مثل هذا
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Prayer, the chapter on praying in leather socks, hadith no. 387, from the hadith of Shubah. Muslim narrated it in the Book of Purification, the chapter on wiping over the leather socks, hadith no. 272, from the hadith of Sulayman Amash, with the same wording. It is also found in Kubra, hadith no. 850.
