People, you are eating from two plants which I consider to be nothing but offensive, this onion and garlic. I saw the Prophet of Allah ﷺ, whenever he detected their smell on a man, order him to be taken out to al-Baqi. Whoever eats them, let him kill their odor by cooking them well.
أخبرنا محمد بن المثنى قال حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد قال حدثنا هشام قال حدثنا قتادة عن سالم بن أبي الجعد عن معدان بن أبي طلحة أن
إنكم أيها الناس تأكلون من شجرتين ما أراهما إلا خبيثتين هذا البصل والثوم ولقد رأيت نبي الله ﷺ إذا وجد ريحهما من الرجل أمر به فأخرج إلى البقيع فمن أكلهما فليمتهما طبخا
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Mosques, chapter on the prohibition of one who has eaten garlic, onion, leek, or similar things, etc., hadith no. 567, from Muhammad bin Muthanna with this same chain, and it is also found in Kubra, hadith no. 787.
