The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Were it not that I would burden my community, I would have commanded them to use the toothstick before every prayer."
أخبرنا قتيبة بن سعيد عن مالك عن أبي الزناد عن الأعرج
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال لولا أن أشق على أمتي لأمرتهم بالسواك عند كل صلاة
[Agreed upon. Bukhari, Book of Friday Prayer, Chapter on using the tooth-stick on Friday, hadith (887), from the hadith of Malik, and Muslim, Book of Purification, Chapter on the tooth-stick, hadith (252), from the hadith of Abu Zinad, through him.
