I was sitting with Abu Umama bin Sahl bin Hunayf when the muezzin gave the call to prayer. The muezzin said, "Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest," giving the takbir twice. Then he said, "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah," giving the testimony twice. Then he said, "I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah," giving the testimony twice. Then Abu Umama said, "This is how Muawiya bin Abu Sufyan reported it to me from the words of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."
